Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords joined others at the January 8th Memorial, known as "The Embrace," near the Pima County Historic Courthouse on the 13th anniversary of the shooting on Wednesday. Six people died and 13 were injured when a gunman opened fire outside the Safeway store at Ina and Oracle roads on Jan. 8, 2011. Giffords was holding a "Congress On Your Corner" event on Tucson's northwest side when the attack occurred.

Marj Sisson takes a closer look at the Jan. 8 Embrace Memorial following a ceremony to commemorate the 14th anniversary of the January 8th shooting. Sisson was the incident commander at University Medical Center when the shooting took place. She said it’s emotional to be at the memorial and also feels that it was a privilege to have been part of the team that took care of the victims back in 2011.
