Tucson police have identified theΒ victim from Friday night's homicide in a motel parking lot on the east side of town, officials said.

Jeremy Broussard, 36, was taken to a local hospital after police found him in the parking lot of the Super 8 motel nearΒ South Craycroft Road and East 29th Street,Β Sgt. Kimberly Bay, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman, said in a news release.

Officers went to the motel to answer a call about "unknown trouble" there, and found Broussard in the front parking lot with obvious signs of trauma.

Broussard was taken to Banner University Medical Center, where he died later, Bay said.

Homicide detectives say that Broussard was in an altercation in the motel's parking lot and anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME, an anonymous tipster hotline.

The investigation continues as detectives work to learn the circumstances that led to Broussard’s death, Bay said.
