Blowing dust closed a portion of Interstate 10 east of Picacho Peak Road for nearly 40 minutes Thursday afternoon.
The Arizona Department of Transportation reported shortly after 5:20 p.m., both directions were shut down at milepost 219 as low visibility was in the area.
The National Weather Service published a dust storm warning for the area until 5:45 p.m.
The roadway was reopened at 5:51 p.m., the transportation department said.
