Broadway Houses

On the south side of Broadway, between Cherry and Warren avenues, the Circle K and four homes are being considered for demolition. The far left palm tree marks Warren Avenue. The city of Tucson must decide which buildings will be knocked down for roadway widening.

A few hundred people are showing their support of andΒ opposition to the Broadway Improvement Project during a protest early Sunday evening in central Tucson.Β 

The rally began at 5:30 p.m., with protesters holding signs along parts the proposed Broadway widening route.

The project, which if approved, will change the existing four lane road between Euclid Avenue and Country Club Road to six lanes. Β The Tucson City Council Β is voting Tuesday on the Broadway project.
