When a dog was stuck in a tight spot Friday morning, Tucson Fire came to its rescue.Β

Apparently, the pup spotted something, possibly a mouse, and ran after it, getting itself stuck on the hill.Β

The pup's owner spent hours trying to reach it, with no such luck, a department spokesman said.

Luckily though, the hill is located near a Tucson fire station near East River Road and North First Avenue, so the owner contacted the department for help.

And, with the help of a ladder, firefighters saved the day and were able to safely reach the dog.Β

"How about a dog gone good way to start Friday!" the department said on Facebook, later adding another dog pun: "It started out ruff but ended up great."

In another recent dog rescue, a volunteer with an Arizona sheriff's office saved a dog that was tied to a semitrailer truck.Β
