A 15-year-old bicyclist who was struck by a car remained in a Tucson hospital Thursday afternoon, said the Sahuarita Police Department.

The department said earlier Thursday the teen had been pronounced dead around 2 a.m. Thursday.

However, in an updated release Thursday evening, the department said the teen was alive, but that he remained "intubated."

The teen was struck by a car around 8 a.m. Tuesday, near South Old Nogales Highway and East Quail Crossing Boulevard, police said.

He was taken to a hospital in Tucson and the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. No arrests have been made in connection with the crash, the release shows.

No further information has been released.
