Amy Schull, seen here holding her bell, works at Catalina High School.

What: Ben’s Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is “belled.”

Last week’s recipient: Amy Schull.

Nominated by: Charles Taylor.

Why: Schull is a student retention specialist at Catalina High School. She has established a food pantry for students who don’t get enough food to eat at home and also has a clothing closet that provides clothing to students in need, Taylor wrote in his nomination letter. She helps students who are homeless or living on their own to remain in school and graduate. She organizes back-to-school and Christmas lunches to thank teachers and staff for the hard work they do, Taylor wrote.
