Sheriff's detectives are looking for a suspect and accomplice in an armed robbery at a Quik Mart on Tucson's north side Jan. 7.

Deputies responded to the store on 900 West Roger Road at 4:45 a.m. after reports of an armed robbery. When they arrived one male suspect had fled the area.

The suspect entered at 4:38 a.m. with his face covered and used a black handgun to demand money from a store clerk, a news release said.Β

The suspect left the area with money from the business.

The male suspect is possibly in his 20s, Hispanic or Caucasian and around 6-feet tall. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket with a hood, a blue scarf over his face, black pants and shoes.

Video surveillance from the store showed a female inside during the incident and she left just prior to the suspect in the same direction, the release said. She is believed to be an accomplice.

The female was described to be in her 20s, Hispanic and about 5-feet tall. She was wearing gloves, a dark gray sweatshirt and black pants when last seen.

The department's robbery unit is investigating the incident and ask the public to assist in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information should call 9-1-1 or leave an anonymous tip at 88CRIME.org.
