A Canadian company will break ground on a 62-home community north of Tucson this summer with home prices that start at $2 million.

Replay Destinations will build the community, Cielo Sonora, within the master planned The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Dove Mountain, in the Tortolita Mountain foothills.

Cielo Sonora, within the master planned The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Dove Mountain, in the Tortolita Mountain foothills, will break ground this summer.

The 10.5-acre community will be adjacent to the existing resort, and residents will have access to all amenities at The Ritz-Carlton.

Developers say the project is geared toward residents who seek luxury homes and serene surroundings.

"We're designing this for buyers who want a true retreat — someone who loves the Sonoran Desert and is seeking a refined residence that delivers the legendary Ritz-Carlton service standard,” said Brianne Kelsey, senior vice president for development at Replay Destinations. “That could be someone who's been drawn to the Dove Mountain lifestyle, the golf, the wellness culture, the dramatic scenery of the Tortolita Mountains, or a snowbird trading a harsh winter for sunshine and saguaros.”

Local retirees looking to downsize may also be “ready to trade the burdens of a large home for a lock-and-leave lifestyle,” Kelsey said. “The common thread is that they want to arrive, unwind and let someone else handle the details."

The homes, ranging in size from 1,984 to 2,182 square feet, will all feature a great room with 11-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and private terraces.

Architecture is by Tucson-based Kevin B. Howard Architects, interior designs by Linda Snyder Associates and landscape architecture by The Planning Center.
