After nearly six decades, The Book Stop will close by the end of the year.
βPlease allow us grace as we process what feels very much like the loss of a loved one,β the shop posed on its Instagram page. βWe are immensely grateful to every person who came into the store, found solace here, connected with us, and spent a curious afternoon with the books.β
The Book Stop, open in Tucson since 1967, is one of the city's oldest independent booksellers. It will close Dec. 31.
The Book Stop opened on Campbell Avenue in 1967 and in 2007 moved to its current location at 214 N. Fourth Ave. It carries used, rare and out-of-print scholarly books.

β’ Crown Home Services LLC, dba Mister Sparky, leased 3,600 square feet at 2706 N. Silverbell Road from Larsen Baker. The landlord was represented by its brokers Isaac Figueroa and Michelle Ward.
