The Walmart store on North First Avenue and West Wetmore Road will be expanded into a Super Center.
The existing 86,922-square-foot store will more than double in size, as it takes over the neighboring shops and Office Max spaces at Tucson Place Shopping Center, 405 E. Wetmore Road.
When finished, it will add 171,000 square feet to its current size.
Work is expected to begin in the coming months.
A massive expansion is planned for the Walmart store at 405 W. Wetmore Road. The store in the Tucson Place Shopping Center will take over space from neighboring businesses.
The landlord, Larsen Baker, was represented by its broker Isaac Figueroa. Alex Clark, with Common Bond, represented Walmart.
