Ajax Metal Forming Solutions, a company that specializes in metal fabrication and stamping, will expand its operations into Tucson with a new plant.
Ajax manufacturing services include metal stamping, sheet metal fabrication, fiber laser cutting and robotic welding.
Headquartered in Minneapolis, Ajax selected Tucson to serve customers in the Southwest. The company also operates a plant in Raleigh, North Carolina, which opened in 2021.
βTucson checked all the boxes for us,β said Ajax President Kent Djubek. βWeβre especially looking forward to welcoming colleagues on board from the University of Arizona and Pima Community College.β
The company will occupy 30,162 square feet of space at 4646 S. Overland Drive, near Alvernon Way and Irvington Road, and add about 20 local jobs over the next five years. Information on salaries was not immediately available.
The solar-powered facility is scheduled to become operational this summer.
