Travel westbound on Ft. Lowell Road has been shut down after a FedEx truck struck a power line shortly before 5 p.m.

The westbound lanes from Fontana Avenue to Stone Avenue are shut down, according to Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson police spokesman.

A FedEx truck struck a power line, Dugan said, which caused the pole to break and wires to fall into the road.

Drivers should avoid the area. A time for the roadway to reopen was not released.
