A Tucson bicyclist who was struck by a vehicle in midtown died from his injuries Wednesday, two days after the collision, authorities said.
Santiago Diaz Jr.,54, was struck before 10 p.m. Monday by a 2003 Infinity G35 after making a left turn from East Fourth Street and attempting to travel across the curb lane on North Country Club Road, police say.
He died Wednesday at Banner-University Medical Center, police said.
Detectives determined Diaz was not wearing a helmet, a news release said.
The driver remained on scene to cooperate with police and no citations or arrests have been made. Neither speed nor impairment appear to be factors in the collision, the news release said.
