An elderly man died in a north-side apartment complex fire early Saturday, the Tucson Fire Department says.

The department gave the following account in a news release:

Fire units from TFD and Northwest Fire brought the 3 a.m. blaze at a complex in the 3900 block of North Stone Avenue, south of East Roger Road, under control in about 20 minutes. A fire in a first-floor apartment had spread to three units on the second floor.

Firefighters found the deceased man, whose identity was not released, in the first-floor apartment.

Another adult was taken to a hospital for evaluation and several others were evaluated on scene.
