Josiah Langham

A man was arrested in connection to an assault of a Circle K clerk that was captured on surveillance video, authorities say.

Josiah Langham, 34, was arrested Oct. 19 on a charge of assault, said Deputy Cody Gress, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman, in a news release Oct. 24.

Authorities released information and photos about the case to the media recently, and multiple tips through 88-CRIME led detectives to identify Langham who was captured on surveillance video physically assaulting the clerk on Sept. 10 at the south-side convenience store at 5818 S. Palo Verde Road, said Gress.

Shortly after 7 p.m., deputies responded to the store and learned that a man had approached the clerk, who was standing outside, and punched him multiple times in the face, Gress said.

The clerk told deputies that the assailant said he was upset because the clerk did not provide a courtesy cup to him about a week earlier. The suspect was scared away by the clerk's friend who witnessed the attack, said Gress.
