Tucson Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying a suspect in a theft and assault that took place at a Circle K on the south side.

Tucson police are looking for the suspect in a convenience store theft that turned violent on the south side.

On August 31, a man attempting to steal a 30-pack of beer and multiple food items from Circle K, 6090 S. Park Ave., was confronted by the store's security guard, according to a post on the Tucson Police Department's Facebook page.

The suspect and guard began to fight and fell to the ground, and the suspect punched the guard in the face multiple times. After the suspect stood up, he stomped on the guard's face while he was still on the ground, resulting in a concussion and facial fractures, the post said.

Anyone with information on the man's identity is asked 88-CRIME.
