A Pima County jury has convicted a Tucson man on charges stemming from a fatal 2017ย Thanksgiving Dayย shooting, according to court officials.
Lamont Adams was convicted of first degree murder, Pima County Superior Court spokeswoman Krisanne LoGalbo said.ย
At about 9 a.m. on Nov. 23, 2017, 38-year-old Carlos Simmons was shot in the chest during an argument that involved several people in midtown Tucson,ย Arizona Daily Star archives show.ย
Simmons was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. Adams was arrested by police and booked into jail the the following week.
Adams' sentencing is set for Monday, Oct. 29.ย
