Police arrested a 57-year-old man early Tuesday morning in connection with a knife-point robbery in midtown.
Tucson police went to the Circle K at 3031 East 22nd Street, near South Country Club Road, to reports of a suspect who fled the scene of an armed robbery, according to a Tucson Police Department news release.
Witnesses at the store told police that man walked in and asked for cigarettes before producing a knife and demanding money from the clerk.
An officer in the area recognized the suspect's description and identified him as Dennis Tipton and sent out the information to multiple officers, who located Tipton shortly after, the release said.
Tipton was detained without incident and arrested on felony counts of armed robbery and aggravated assault. He was booked into the Pima County jail.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be added at a later date.
