A woman was killed late Wednesday morning when the car she was riding slammed into the back of a dump truck on Tucson's south side, police say.
Ba Thi Parham, 82, was a passenger in a westbound Toyota Solara on West Valencia Road about 11:30 a.m. when it crashed into the back of a dump truck near South 12th Avenue, Tucson police said Thursday in a news release.
Parham died soon after arriving at a hospital.
The unidentified dump truck driver, a 33-year-old man, was not injured in the wreck, the release said.
The unidentified driver of the Toyota, a 77-year-old man, was cited for failure to reduce/control speed to avoid a collision, the release said.
