A 46-year-old woman was struck and killed early Tuesday while walking across East 22nd Street, Tucson police say.
Sarah Marie Chavez was in a marked crosswalk at South Park Avenue when she was struck by a a white 2014 Dodge Charger. However, Chavez was walking against the light, police said in a news release.
The driver of the Charger stopped and cooperated with police. The driver was speeding and did not have a valid driver's license, the release said.
The investigation continues.
