A pedestrian died from injuries after being struck by a vehicle on the city's east side on Saturday night, according to the Tucson Police Department.
Investigators said Carl Howard, 42, was northbound around 7 p.m. at Maguire Avenue as he crossed Speedway, east of North Pantano Road. The area has no painted or implied crosswalk markings, police said.
The driver of a Honda Accord was westbound on Speedway in the center lane when they saw the pedestrian but it was too late to react, police said. The driver was fully cooperative and remained at the scene.
Neither speed or impairment was a factor in the collision and no citations or arrest were made at this time, police said.
