A 43-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Tucson's east side Saturday afternoon.
Around 2 p.m., Benjamin Secor, 43, was facing northbound on South Houghton Road waiting to make a left turn onto East 22nd Street, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a department spokesman.
When the light turned green, Secor made his turn directly in front of a southbound Jeep Wrangler, Dugan said.
Police believe the Jeep collided with the motorcycle and both vehicles ended up on the southwest corner of the intersection. Secor was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver of the Jeep remained on scene and did not show signs of impairment, police said. Speed did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
No charges or citations have been issued.
