Tucson police are investigating a fatal shooting at an east-side apartment complex Wednesday night.

Tucson police have identified the 22-year-old victim in Wednesday night's fatal shooting at an east-side apartment complex as Arturo Castillo.

Officers on patrol heard multiple gunshots shortly after 7 p.m. on Dec. 20 in the area of East Broadway and Camino Seco, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

As officers searched the area, multiple 911-callers reported gunshots in the complex and parking lot of Camino Seco Village apartments at 77 N. Camino Seco, said Dugan.

Officers pulled into the north-side of the complex and found a man in his 20s with gunshot wounds. Officers administered aid and began performing CPR on the man until Tucson Fire Department paramedics arrived and took over.

The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Dugan said.

After speaking to witnesses, detectives learned that the shooting was not random. The victim had an argument with a person or persons inside a vehicle in the parking lot, and then multiple shots were fired. The vehicle then left after the shooting, Dugan said.

Detectives are looking for a light-colored sedan missing the rear driver's side window and possibly with gunshot damage, Officer Christopher Hawkins, a police department spokesman, wrote in a tweet.

Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked not to approach it and immediately call 911, Hawkins said.
