Arizona senator Jeff Flake said that fellow Senator John McCain was sounding good on Wednesday afternoon.
In a tweet posted on Flake's Twitter account in the afternoon, he said he had just talked to the senator and that he "sounded good and is recuperating well in Arizona."Β
"He sends best wishes to his colleagues here in Washington," the tweet went onto say.Β

McCain, 81, who is battling brain cancer, was briefly hospitalized before flying home to Arizona over the weekend. He was treated for a viral infection at Walter Reed Medical Center in Maryland.Β
Arizona governor Doug Ducey also said he talked to McCain's wife Cindy earlier this week and "got a good report from her." The governor said that McCain is the "toughest man in the United States Senate."Β
