One of the drivers in a serious crash on Tucson's east side died three days after the incident last week, authorities said.

On Sept. 23, Daltin Vazis, 23, died at hospital after his Mitsubishi Gallant crashed into two vehicles in the 7300 block of East Valencia Road, a Tucson Police Department news release said.

On Sept. 20, Vazis was headed east on Valencia when his vehicle drifted into the center lane of westbound traffic.

A driver of an Ford F350 swerved to avoid a crash but Vazis' Mitsubishi struck the trailer tied to the back of the truck.

Vazis then struck a Ford F150 head-on, the news release said.

The two truck drivers were not injured. No passengers were in any of the three vehicles.

Police say there were no indications of impairment and speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
