The scene at the apartment complex where Tucson man was fatally shot Oct. 17 by his wife, according to police.

Police say a Tucson woman who fatally shot her husband during a fight Wednesday night was found dead Friday morning.

Cienna Thacker, 21, was pronounced dead Friday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside a vehicle, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson police spokesman.

She had been staying with a friend prior to being found dead, Dugan said.

On Wednesday night, officers were called to an apartment complex at 8601 E. Old Spanish Trail for reports of a shooting.

Reilly Thacker, 21, was found shot and unresponsive on the floor of the couple’s apartment when officers and paramedics arrived. Paramedics took over CPR efforts from the wife, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives determined that the pair were physically fighting when Cienna Thacker picked up a handgun and shot him. She was the one who called 911, police said.

She was not arrested and the investigation was ongoing when she died.
