Nearly 4000 residents on Tucson's southwest side will experience an interruption in their water service between Friday night and Saturday morning.Β 

Affected areas will be west of Kinney Road, south to Drexel Road and west and northwest of San Joaquin Road, according to Tucson Water. The interruption is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Friday and end at 5 a.m. Saturday.Β 

Tucson Electric Power in conducting an upgrade of its electrical transmission lines as part of a public improvement project to widen State Highway 86, said Joseph Barrios, a TEP spokesman.Β 

During the service interruption, Tucson Water will provide drinking and cooking water at two locations. The stations are located at the Drexel Heights Fire Station 401, 5030 S. Camino Verde, and the southeast corner of the intersection of San Joaquin and Bopp Roads.Β
