Amateur chefs and home cooks, this is your chance to prove you're the best.
Fox's MasterChef is holding an open casting in Phoenix on Saturday, Sept. 16.
"We are on a nationwide search for talented amateur cooks from all types of backgrounds and with a range of cooking styles, to audition for Season 9," according to MasterChef's website. "Whether you enjoy cooking delightful desserts or hefty main courses, whether you cook fine French cuisine or prefer a great tasting burger, we want to hear from you."
There are a few restrictions to apply, including the fact that applicants cannot have ever worked as a professional chef and his or her "current main source of income cannot come from preparing and cooking fresh food in a professional environment," the website says, adding examples that include restaurants, hotels, food trucks and catering companies.
The casting will be held at Phoenix's Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort, 7677 N. 16th St., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
