U.S. Marshals arrested a man in connection with a shooting near a Family Dollar in Tucson, authorities said.

Lee Roy Hickman, 32, was arrested last Friday for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a firearm for firing a handgun at a person near the store.

On Feb. 25, authorities say Hickman drove to the Family Dollar and started an argument with a person he had observed in the parking lot.

Hickman fired several shots at the person, who was able to run away without being hit.

Tucson Police Department requested assistance with arresting Hickman from the U.S. Marshals Service, which is leading the Arizona WANTED Violent Offender Task Force.

U.S. Marshals located Hickman leaving in his vehicle near Mission Road and Drexel Road Friday morning. He was arrested and turned over to Tucson police. The investigation is ongoing.

β€œLee Roy Hickman is a violent criminal who was growing more violent every day in the Tucson community, saidΒ U.S. Marshal David Gonzales in a press release. "Due to the outstanding partnership between the U.S. Marshals and the Tucson Police Department, Hickman was apprehended before he could seriously hurt anyone.”
