Tyler Woods helped start the Survivors of Suicide.

Last week’s recipient: Tyler Woods.

Why: For her efforts helping others deal with grief and loss due to suicide. Woods was instrumental in helping to start a support group and nonprofit, Survivors of Suicide, more than 20 years ago. She has been involved in suicide-prevention efforts through teaching and advocating. After 20 years, Woods has stepped down from her duties with Survivors of Suicide, Schwartz wrote in her nomination letter. β€œTyler’s devotion to helping others deal with this type of grief has positively impacted the lives of so many in our Tucson community,” Schwartz wrote.
