Weekend showers remain expected throughout Tucson this week as holiday drivers hit the roads.
But come Christmas morning, Tucsonans will wake to sunny skies, weather forecasters here said Wednesday.
Those looking to get their final hikes in before the rain starts and temperatures drop nearly 10 degrees should head out Thursday when the National Weather Service is predicting sunny conditions and a high temperature of 75 degrees.
That night, after 11 p.m., a 50% chance of rain is expected, bringing with it colder temperatures.
Expect a definite chance of rain on Friday with highs in the mid-60s, the weather service says.
These showers may last through Saturday when meteorologists predict a 40% to 70% chance of rain here, depending on the time of day.
The high temperature on Saturday will drop to 60 degrees and the low will be around 44 degrees, meteorologists said.
Light showers could continue Sunday morning, mainly before 11 a.m., but the clouds are expected to part and make way to sun as the day wears on.
A high of 61 degrees and a low of 36 degrees are anticipated.
Christmas Day’s forecast is showing dry conditions filled with sunshine and a high of 61 degrees.
Tuesday travelers will see sunny skies, again, as they hit the roads, with a high temperature of 62 degrees.
And although the New Year seems a ways away, The Arizona Bowl, The Downtown Bowl Bash, and dozens of outdoor events are depending on prime Arizona weather to ensure their events go off without a hitch.
According to The Weather Channel’s 10-day forecast, there shouldn’t be any disappointment.
Very small chances of showers exist on Dec. 31, with a high of 66 degrees and a low of 44 degrees being anticipated.
