Weather systems crossing the Tucson area will bring windy conditions Monday, cooler temperatures and a chance of rain by the end of the week, forecasters say.

Winds will be strongest Monday across much of Cochise, Graham, and Greenlee counties, resulting in concerns about blowing dust and potential wildfires, the National Weather Service in Tucson said on Sunday.

A red flag warning has been issued Monday for the three counties.

Below normal temperatures are expected several this week across Southeast Arizona.

The evening sun shines through the giant American flag this weekend near East Irvington and South Palo Verde roads. This week will bring an assortment of weather conditions to Tucson, including wind on Monday, cooler temperatures and a chance of rain by the end of the week, forecasters say.

Monday’s high in Tucson is expected to be about 60 degrees then it will warm to the 70s midweek.

But the high temperature here could dip into the mid 50s on Friday due to another system that might bring rain to the area, the forecast shows.

The best chance for rain in Tucson will be Thursday through Friday night.

By Saturday Tucson is expected to have sunny weather with a high of 68 degrees.
