Tucson's weekend respite from the heat is over.

High temperatures in metro Tucson will be 10 to 15 degrees above normal Tuesday through Sunday, the National Weather Service here says in its weekly forecast.

High temperatures will peak this week in the mid to upper 90s.

That means near-record high temperatures are possible, especially Wednesday through Friday. Weekend high temperatures should be in the low to mid 90s.

Expected high temperatures in Tucson are 98 degrees on Wednesday, 96 degrees on Thursday and 98 degrees on Friday, the weather service said.

Monday's high temperature is expected to be about 88 degrees.
