The National Weather Service in Tucson wants to hear about your fallen trees, damaged home or that suddenly missing pool-side umbrella swept away by the wind to never be seen again.

Friday evening's monsoon storms were wild for many Tucson residents who experienced severe winds and thunderstorms beat down across portions of the city.

The weather service expects daily chances for showers and thunderstorms to continue into next week, bringing threats of strong, gusty wind and brief but heavy rains that can cause flash flooding.

Over the past 24 hours, which included the Aug. 2 deluge, Pima County recorded rain at three three measuring locations received more than an inch of rain. The highest recorded rainfall occurred at the following locations: Sutherland Wash at Catalina State Park (1.22-inches); CaΓ±ada del Oro at Big Wash (1.02-inches); and Arthur Pack Park at the Santa Cruz Basin (1.26-inches).

Meteorologists said information shared by residents helps the weather service verify their weather reports and severe thunderstorm warnings are going where they need to be sent. And it helps weather watchers verify their storm alerts.
