Mild temperatures in Tucson this week will give way to a much cooler weekend, the weather service says.

The city’s high temperatures are set to drop from the high 70s Friday to the mid to low 60s beginning Saturday.

A weather system is expected to move into the area Friday, bringing cooler temperatures, breezy conditions and a chance for rain and mountain snow.

Low temperatures Monday through Wednesday next week could dip into the high 30s in the metro area, the National Weather Service in Tucson says. Expected highs in Tucson will be in the mid to upper 60s through Wednesday.

On Sunday the high here will be about 62 degrees.

Mount Lemmon could get up to 4 inches of snow over the weekend, the forecast says.
