There was no snow near Tucson for Christmas.
But that could change this week on the Catalina and PinaleΓ±o Mountains.
A weather system tracking through southeastern Arizona will bring valley rain and mountain snow as early as Thursday, kicking off the snow event, according to the National Weather Service in Tucson.
Two to four inches of snow could fall on the Catalinas, the weather service says.
Off the mountain, freeze warnings have been issued for Thursday and Friday this week as night-time temperatures drop below freezing.
High temperatures in Tucson are set to drop nearly 20 degrees from the previous week.
On Saturday itβll be sunny, but the high temperature here will sit at about 56 degrees.
Sunday brings with it a slight chance of showers and breezy winds, but high temperatures remain in the mid 50s.
And valley locations from Tucson eastward could see light snow late Sunday night into early Monday morning, the weather service says.
