More rain and mountain snow is expected across metro Tucson overnight, the weather service said Friday. Below freezing temperatures also are expected here early Sunday and Monday morning, the National Weather Service in Tucson says.

A storm is expected to bring more rain to the Tucson metro area and snow to higher elevations late Friday night into Saturday morning, forecasters say.

Rain in the region is expected after 11 p.m. Friday, the National Weather Service in Tucson said.

Rain totals are generally expected to stay under 0.5 inches in most of the valley, according to the weather service.

Accumulating snow is likely above 4,000 feet overnight. A winter weather advisory has been issued for elevations above 4,000 feet from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.

Thereโ€™s also a chance of the snow level dropping into parts of the valley Saturday, forecasters said. Mount Lemmon is expected to get between 6 and 8 inches of snow.
