Westbound traffic near Speedway and Wilmot in Tucson reopens following crash

Westbound traffic on East Speedway Boulevard between North Wilmot and Kolb roads has reopened following an earlier crash, officials say.

According to the Tucson Police Department, the crash involved eight vehicles, including a recycling truck. Jessica Nolte, spokeswoman with Tucson Fire, said the crash involved six vehicles.

Two people were taken to the hospital, Nolte said. One person was trapped in their vehicle, but crews were able to extricate the person quickly.
