A woman who was struck by a car Thursday while attempting to cross East Grant Road has died from her injuries.

Ambrosa Wood, 29, was pronounced dead at Banner University Medical Center on Saturday, according to a news release from Tucson Police Department.

Wood was crossing East Grant Road, east of North Columbus Boulevard, at about 10 p.m. when a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta heading westbound on Grant struck her, the release said.

Wood was not within a crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing at the time of impact, the release said.

Investigators have determined that speed was not a factor. They have yet to rule out impairment, the release said.

No charges or citations have been issued at this time.
