Tom Smothers
Comedian Tom Smothers, who with his brother performed as the singing comedy duo the Smothers Brothers, has died at 86.
Dick Smothers, Tom’s younger brother and professional partner, said his brother was at home at the time of his death related to cancer.
“Tom was not only the loving older brother that everyone would want in their life, he was a one-of-a-kind creative partner,” Dick Smothers said.
The folk singing brothers became pioneers with their biting satirical comedy that was at the forefront of their CBS variety show “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.”

‘Parasite’ actor found dead
South Korean actor Lee Sun-kyun, known internationally for his role in the Academy Award-winning film “Parasite,” has died while being investigated for illegal drug use, police confirmed Wednesday. He was 48.
Police in the capital Seoul said in a statement they had received a missing person report from Lee’s manager on their hotline. Lee, who received acclaim for his role as Park Dong-ik, the father of the wealthy Park family in “Parasite,” was found in his car on Wednesday morning.
The cause of death is “presumed to be suicide,” police said.

Gas prices to fall
Gas prices will fall in 2024 for the second year in a row, according to GasBuddy projections shared exclusively with CNN.
GasBuddy, which had a forecast for 2023 that proved to be eerily accurate, expects US gas prices will average $3.38 a gallon in the key election year of 2024.
That would represent a significant improvement from 2023’s average of $3.51 a gallon and an even bigger drop from 2022’s average of $3.95. Gas prices skyrocketed to record highs that year as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine set off global shockwaves.

Apple Watch
Apple will immediately return to selling its most advanced Apple Watch models in stores, after a federal appeals court temporarily blocked a sweeping import ban on its latest smartwatches while a patent dispute winds its way through the legal system.
Apple will also once again offer the affected watches for sale on its website beginning Thursday at noon Pacific Time, the company said in a statement.
The announcement means Apple will be selling “the full Apple Watch lineup to customers in time for the new year,” the company added.
