Re: the Aug. 10 article "UA's vet school proposal rejected."
I am entirely in agreement with Bruce Wheeler in chastising University of Arizona President Ann Weaver Hart. Both Hart and UA interim Veterinary School Dean Shane Burgess cannot establish and maintain a veterinary school on the cheap under the guise of 21st century modern education.
In addition, a school of veterinary medicine should be located on the grounds of the university's Campbell Avenue farm, where access to animals would be superior as well as a closer connection to the education facilities on the main campus. The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) showed wisdom in rejecting Hart's inept proposal. I have always thought Tucson would be a great place for a vet school since I graduated from the U of A in Agriculture in 1971.
