Re: the June 21 article "Authorities urge caution after heat related deaths."

We hear about it, and, or read about it every year. Outdoor adventurers succumbing to extreme temperatures while hiking in the Catalina Mountains, yet no one has suggested posting signs at popular trails, warning hikers of imminent danger during periods of extreme heat.

Members of search and rescue are to be commended for unselfishly putting themselves in harms way trying to save the lives of risk-takers. And no, costs associated with search and rescue operations should never be levied against victims of such tragedies. Government has spent millions of dollars on Oracle Road wildlife crossings and relocating bighorn sheep to the Catalina mountains, surely it can, therefore, absorb the cost of rescuing human life.
