Letter: We don't need more border agents

Re: the April 16 opinion column ““New polygraph exam could be Border Patrol solution.”

Star columnist Tim Steller missed a key point in his article. The real solution: We don’t need more Border Patrol agents at all. The number of unauthorized border crossers has been trending sharply down for the past decade. The Border Patrol is already the largest law enforcement agency in the U.S., employing as many as 21,000 agents. We need fewer Border Patrol agents, not more.
