Editor,

Donald J. Trump distinguished himself from all of the other Republican candidates by stating his support for Medicaid and vowing not to cut Medicaid.

Trump, believing that he is advocating for the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, is actively supporting Senator McConnell's "Better Care Bill," which can be more accurately described as a repeal of Medicaid than a repeal of Obama Care.

Historically, Medicaid has provided health care for many Americans including elderly living in nursing homes. Data show that Medicaid has provided health care for many who would not have received it and extended the quality of life for many fellow Americans.

Trump's difficulties with the truth are now expected, predictable and routine. But what is truly exasperating is the deafening silence of Senators Flake and McCain suggesting their apparent support for the eventual repeal of Medicaid.
