Re: the Dec. 31 article "The Arizona Daily Star, Tucson, Tim Steller column"

During the past 49 years, I have hiked Sabino Canyon many times and, on occasion, ridden the tram. But, as Mr. Tim Steller so ably describes it, the tram is both a blessing and a nightmare. To eliminate exhaust, the tram should be powered by zero-emissions, electric motors.

And, the public address system should be replaced by earphones or handsets, available for a small extra fee, perhaps even with a damage/loss deposit. The dialog could even be automated and keyed to the region through which the tram is passing. A bonus would be user-selectable narration, available in several common languages. Currently, many of our overseas visitors are forced to listen to the blather, even if they don't understand it.

Please read Mr. Steller's article and voice your support for the key principles that he lists for the next Sabino Canyon tram concession. Nothing less should be accepted.
