I am a proud Sunnyside Blue Devil, and member of the South Side community. Voting to me is an issue that serves on a grandstand to me. Hence, Bob Thorpe. Representative Bob Thorpe of Flagstaff is proposing a provision that would bar college students from voting where they may live most of the year, and that is at their University. The less people we have voting in each election, is the less healthy our government and democracy will be. Rep. Thorpe claims, “These students do not influence the elections within their home communities … but instead they dilute the votes of the local full-time residents within the college communities.” These students live there, let them have an impact on their community. This proposal is outright defiant to one of the very values that have made America great, and that is our right to vote. Here's a proposal; Make America Vote Again.
