Sabino Canyon Recreation Area, along with several trails, reopened on Monday, September 21, 2020.Β 

The closure order implemented after the Bighorn Fire was updated which has allowed partial recreational access to Sabino Canyon and the Santa Catalinas, according to Coronado National Forest Service.Β 

"We've worked to implement emergency treatments so we can provide as many recreation opportunities to the public as possible," said CJ Woodard, Santa Catalina District Ranger. "Visitors should be aware that Sabino Canyon looks different after the fire due to mitigation measures implemented by the BAER team. Hazards still exist in the burn scar and the general forest, so I implore visitors to be safe, heed the signs, and be vigilant."

Some trails are partially open and the shuttle, visitor center and bathrooms are closed.

The following trails include Oracle Ridge Trail,Β  Brush Corral Trail, Mint Spring Trail, Box Camp Trail, Sabino West Fork Trail, Esperero Trail, Finger Rock Trail, Pima Canyon Trail, Ventana Trail, Pontatoc Trail, Guthrie trail and Arizona Trail.
