Off-campus private rentals were giving University of Arizona dorms a run for their money in 1973. The UA loosened the rules. According to a story in the Tucson Citizen, the "relaxed rules range from no curfews for women and keys allowing them to come and go, to no room inspections." But the biggest concession came when the board of regents voted to allow alcohol on campus earlier that year.
