GLENDALE — A Glendale man has died after he was struck by a speeding driver, authorities say.
A vehicle traveling Thursday around 8:30 p.m. near 65th and Glendale avenues changed lanes to pass another car, police say.
The vehicle then returned to its original lane. That is when it struck 53-year-old Jesse Tucker, who was crossing mid-block.
Tucker was taken to a hospital where he died of his injuries. police said.
The driver, 18-year-old Jose Vazquez Flores, of Phoenix, was driving more than 20 mph above the speed limit, police say.
According to police Friday, he has been booked on suspicion of manslaughter, accidental death while driving and other charges.
It was not immediately known if Vazquez Flores had an attorney.
